When Chanani Group wanted to transform a former Travelodge Hotel, built in 1984, into a chic boutique hotel, it sought a general contractor known for such projects. Divided into five phases, redeveloping the property included extensive upgrades to the building’s interior and exterior, landscaping, and the addition of a new structure with a lobby, coffee bar, and communal space. An elevator and five executive suites with vaulted ceilings and balconies were also added.
A member of Choice Hotel’s Ascend Hotel Collection, the Bluestem Hotel boasts 58 guest rooms, each with modern furnishings, neutral paint and wall coverings, and locally curated artwork. The hotel’s exterior design is equally eye-catching. The courtyard features comfortable seating around two firepits where guests can relax and enjoy Torrance’s balmy weather. The property also features reconfigured guest parking with 5 additional spaces and an attractive new driveway, sidewalk, and native landscaping.
