Level 3 Construction was awarded with its 49th hotel renovation at the time of the acceptance of the Holiday Inn Express Downtown San Diego project. This project focused on guestroom upgrades, a 13- guestroom addition and new elevator enclosure. The renovation contained 131 existing guestrooms, 13 new guestrooms, 3 corridors, and 2 elevators. Located across from the historic El Cortez on Ash and 7th in Downtown San Diego, the Holiday Inn Express Downtown San Diego is owned and operated by Narven Enterprises. This hotel received a complete make over to match its updated exterior renovation that was completed in 2016. Level 3 Construction alongside its team of expert tradesmen enclosed two exterior elevators in new shafts (stucco, exterior, TPO roof) and constructed structural elements (for elevator guides/tracks, hoist system, etc.) for new elevator cabs. The extensive project also included demolition of the existing finishes (guest rooms & corridors), installation of tile flooring in the bathrooms, new carpet tiles, and new WVC at the guestrooms & corridors. The existing office space and oversized suites were also replaced with 13 new guestrooms, totaling to 144 guestrooms. All doors and frames, valances, and bathroom ceilings were painted. Level 3 Construction was able to supply and install glass shower doors, new under counter sinks with faucets and p-traps along with MPL surrounds. Among the many renovations were also the installation of bathroom base cabinets and vanity tops, 104 tub-to-shower conversions, illuminated bathroom mirrors, and bathroom occupancy sensors.
